What is CSF?
The California Scholarship Federation (CSF) is a statewide nonprofit organization whose mission is to recognize and encourage academic achievement and community service among students in California. Membership is based on report card grades and for one semester. CSF awards the Seymour Scholarship each year to especially high-achieving students around the state. Lifetime CSF members must be nominated by early February to be considered.

Application Requirements
- Name, student ID, phone number, home address
- The grade (9, 10, 11, 12) you are in at the time of submission
- A total of at least 10 points must be achieved from academic classes. Points are awarded as follows: "A" = 3, "B" = 1, "C" = 0
- D's or F's disqualify one from membership for that semester
- For up to two classes, students may receive an additional point for an honors or AP course
- There are three lists of valid classes with minimum requirements per. Refer to the current CSF course list (linked at the top) to complete the application
- Students must attach a printout of the prior semester's grades from Synergy (under the course history tab; the transcript does not have to be officialized).
A new application must be completed and submitted each semester for any type of membership. STUDENTS, not adults, should complete and submit applications.
Tips & Common Errors
- Any additional points over 10 do not matter. They will not count against you, but give more work to the officers
- You do not need points in all three lists as long as you have fulfilled the minimum column requirements
- Too many courses used - 5 courses total
- Too many AP/Honors points used - only 2 AP/Honors classes will give an extra point; the rest will act like normal classes
- Not enough points from list I or lists I & II - 4 minimum from list I, 7 minimum from lists I & II combined
